Meet the cook of Peppermint Brim, leaning over a brown pot in a gold hat banded in red and white. A big red and white flower blooms beside her, as if it wants a taste too.

Haitian painting found a world audience after DeWitt Peters opened the Centre d'Art in Port-au-Prince in 1944. Quiet kitchen scenes like this one carry on that tradition of everyday life in bright color.

This original was painted in Panama by Haitian artists and is signed by the artist. It has been carefully stored and is in very good condition.

It is hand painted on canvas and comes unframed, as a loose canvas, ready for the frame of your choice.

Founded in 1991, TraderBrock celebrates handmade art from Latin America and the people who make it. Haitian paintings have been part of our collection from the very start, and all profits go back into the indigenous artisan communities we work with in Panama.
