At a busy market, six women in bright headwraps line up in white, yellow, blue and green dresses. Sugar Cane Promenade crowns the crowd with purple and green cane stalks and sets a woven basket of purple fruit at their feet, all on a warm rust orange ground.

In Haitian Creole the market women are called Madan Sara, and they keep everyday trade moving from stall to stall. The flat, crowded layout and bold outlines give this tall canvas a cheerful, busy energy.

This original was painted in Panama by Haitian artists and is signed by the artist. It has been carefully stored and is in very good condition.

It is hand painted on canvas and comes unframed, as a loose canvas, ready for the frame of your choice.

Founded in 1991, TraderBrock celebrates handmade art from Latin America and the people who make it. Haitian paintings have been part of our collection from the very start, and all profits go back into the indigenous artisan communities we work with in Panama.
