FAIR TRADE ARTISAN CRAFTED: TraderBrock’s baskets are handwoven by skilled artisan women in Panama using the two traditional coil weaving techniques, silk stitching and rib stitch. This results in baskets in a range of colors and designs with each basket taking anywhere from one day to several months to complete.

ECO-FRIENDLY & SUSTAINABLE MATERIALS: Panamanian baskets are handcrafted from a variety of natural fibers including reed and chunga. Some of the natural dyes include Trumpet Vine, Safran, Lianas Vine, and Cocobolo Wood all locally harvested from the Darien Rainforest.

TRADITIONAL DESIGN: Inspiration comes from the nature and beauty that surrounds them, including hummingbirds, tree frogs, toucans, monkeys, parrots, jaguars, turtles, and other animals who call the rainforest home.


EMPOWERING NATIVE ARTISANS: Since 1991, TraderBrock has partnered with Panamanian artisans by helping them reach a global market for their handmade products. For the past twenty years, all sales revenue has been reinvested into the artisan community of Panama, including education, medical care, land purchase, tools, and other needs.

Every piece we carry begins in the hands of an artisan we know personally. Molas stitched in Guna homes, tagua carved by Wounaan hands, masks woven in the Darién, paintings brushed in Port-au-Prince studios. Our inventory runs over 14,000 pieces, curated from direct relationships that go back decades.
